Flabbergasted Marion

And here's the win (thanks eegah!):

Perfect clip!!!

Thanks, Maria!

Daniel Day-Lewis opened his speech with the following (thanks, Rory!): "Never mind all the other qualities in her astonishing performance. For sheer balls alone, I feel Marion should have this award as well."

Yes, I thought they picked the right clip, and it was the right choice, her win. It was cute, Marion and Kiera being interviewed together. Their hair was the same, and they looked, almost, like sisters. I was really pleased for Marion, because she wasn't alone at these awards: boyfriend and loads of people to do with the film were there (and they won too, whoo). She has seemed kind of alone at some of the American shows; totally respect the independence though.

Damn, I'm getting soft in my old age. It's so sweet when they're shocked and surprised like that. So heartfelt...

Yay Marion!

You knows guys Guillaume Canet has not been to the U.S Awards because he his promoting his new film in France I saw him on a show just last week but he's really happy for Marion. He went to the Bafta because it's not a long distance from France but I was happy to see him there he's a good guy and a talented director, they deserve each other. It was cute the way he was wistling for her.
I have to say one thing you could feel she was back home in Europe, did you guys see the applause she received , she never got that in any U.S show...yet!

I think, also, Marion is just a very independent lady. Which is great, because you need that, when you’re involved in such a business, which can be very isolating, when your filming. I think the thing is too, that you don't go to the Bafta's alone. No one ever does, and if they don't bring their partners, their Mums are there, their brothers, their sisters. Helen Mirren even brought her niece, last year.

I felt this could get awkward because of so much emotion and lack of words to express it but she ended on her feet and the message went through...
I am eagerly waiting for her César speach maybe we'll hear a bit of humor but she is just too whirlwinding now... Must be hard to follow for her. And yes, for once she wasn't alone. It must be hard for her doing all this promotion on her own, trying to master another language, not knowing if all this isn't a dream (that can make anybody go crazy), being starstruck in front of so many giant actors, accumulating all this roller coaster of new experiences etc... No wonder she went to see her brother in some little Californian town on the road before all the big fuss.
For once there was moral support and familiar faces. The Britons were welcoming as well. Love Keira Knightley.

Totally righteous.

This is almost better than the award :

Day-Lewis, named Best Actor for There Will Be Blood, further cemented his Oscar-front-runner status and heightened his standing as Gracious Gentleman all at once.

"Never mind all the other qualities in her astonishing performance. For sheer balls alone, I feel Marion should have this award as well," the Irish actor, who last weekend dedicated his SAG Award to Heath Ledger, said in a nod to his fellow thesp.

Just. WOW!

so Marion is going to be going home for now? She may stay in the UK to do a bit of promotion. I wonder how she will manage the Cesars and the Oscars. I suppose she could get everthing ready for the big night, at home in Paris,
