Best actress award is presented by Forest Whitaker.

Oh my God! I forgot about that, anonymous. I *really* hope he presents it to Marion. How lovely would that be?

Also, I'm growing more and more convinced that there won't be a traditional Oscar ceremony, so this would be Marion's last opportunity (in the US, she still has BAFTA and the Cesar ceremonies) to walk up to a podium. Fingers crossed for tonight!

Didn't Marion work with Forest Whitaker in Mary back in 2005, I saw photos on line.

That's right, read my earlier post here: http://marioncotillard.blogspot.com/2007/07/serendipity.html

Also, here's what Forest said when asked about who he'd be handing the Oscar to:

"Marion Cotillard! Did you not see her in 'La Vie En Rose?' She’s transforming! That’s it!"

dorothy,

I just read this on LA Times.
"A threat by a group of below-the-line Hollywood crew members to picket Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles to protest the ongoing writers strike has been called off. In an e-mail sent to other crew members, set decorator Mel Cooper, who had called for the rally, said the picketing was canceled "due to the positive motion of the talks" now that negotiators for the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers are back at the bargaining table."

Lets have some faith that the talk will resolve into
something positive.

That is good news! I hope this "positive motion" leads to a full-blown Oscar ceremony next month :)
