Critics Choice Awards

The Critics Choice Awards (also known as the Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards) will be announcing their honorees this morning at 8:30 a.m. EST. This post will be updated with nominees.

EDIT: MARION GOT A NOMINATION!!

Best Actress
Amy Adams - Enchanted
Cate Blanchett - Elizabeth: The Golden Age
Julie Christie - Away From Her
Marion Cotillard - La Vie en Rose
Angelina Jolie - A Mighty Heart
Ellen Page - Juno

La Vie en Rose also secured a Best Foreign Language Film nomination.

Best Foreign Language Film
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
Lust, Caution
La Vie en Rose
4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days
The Orphanage

I guess people can stop saying, "Well Cotillard's film isn't being well-received so her chances are hindered..." because several groups have honored La Vie en Rose as being one of the best foreign language films of the year.

Full list of winners here. Note: The site is a little off. They don't have Cotillard listed, but I watched the live broadcast and she is definitely nominated. Plus, they have Julie Christie there for La Vie en Rose, so there must be a format glitch.

I heard about the glitch, K. Thank God I wasn't following the nominations this morning, otherwise I would have had a mini-heart-attack :)

The guy butchered her name, but she was definitely named...I checked the site for the link and BAM! She's not there. Heart attack.

But there were several errors on the site, so I paid it n mind.

I'm actually quite giddy about the GG nods this week... haha. It's like GG nods are in, award season has officially begun! xD

Crossing fingers XX

Me too Amy. I'll be stunned if Marion is snubbed by the Hollywood FOREIGN Press. I think a GG win (and a GG win in Drama to anyone but Christie) would position Marion quite nicely for the final countdown.

I think that if La Vie en Rose manages another FLF nod at the Golden Globes, people can stop talking about how the lack of critical attention for her film will hurt her Oscar chances.

I dunno, k_obrien.

There are some tough and serious competition in the foreign field, I think... although I'm not too clear on what rules apply anymore, so La Vie en Rose could be on the clear.

Unlike The Kite Runner, I'm not even sure where the film would fit... weird foreign film rules~
