Golden Globes

The HFPA will be announcing this year's Golden Globe nominees shortly. This post will be updated with any pertinent Marion Cotillard/La Vie en Rose news.

EDIT: Marion is in!!!

Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy
Amy Adams, Enchanted
Nikki Blonsky, Hairspray
Helena Bonham-Carter, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Marion Cotillard, La Vie en Rose
Ellen Page, Juno

All in all, though, the nominees this year are really unimpressive. The full list can be found at the HFPA's official site, here.

Woooo! She's in!

Also.... I knew Kite Runner could be there, I'm just not clear on what rules for Foreign Film, also... Persepolis =D

Best Drama Actress... I'm not sold on anyone, so I think Julie Christie could win there =S

Well, I never did too well on GG predictions...

I have a feeling Christie won't win Lead Actress...it might go to Keira because of the groundswell of support over "Atonement" (7 nods!! Yay!). Love to see Cotillard among some fine competition there--let's hope the voters do the right thing :)

I'm not too big on Knightley, though awards is always about buzz.

Peru hasn't had any of them new releases... but I'm eagerly awaiting for a download or dvd buy for Juno, Lars and the Real Girl, and Sweeney Todd, as well as No Country for Old Men...

Though Amy Adams and Enchanted have sparked my curiosity... Amy Adams was awesome in Junebug.

But I'm totally going Marion, Allez allez! xD

I am STUNNED that Once missed out on a music nomination. That film has picked up pretty much every critics award out there -- and has just been nominated for two Grammy awards. I mean, Shakira? Clint Eastwood? WALK HARD? Crap, crap, crap.

And where is Knocked Up? Superbad? How on earth did Hairspray and Across the Universe take their spots?

American Gangster and The Great Debaters taking space on an otherwise stellar Drama BP list?

And Hal Holbrook losing out to Travolta for a supporting nomination? The Office being snubbed for comedy series to make room for Entourage and Californication?

I'm really unimpressed with their choices this year. Apart from Cotillard, Atonement, Sweeney Todd, Extras/Gervais, and Carell, it's a really disappointing breakdown.

True. Once has to have the best OST of the year... the music is amazing!

Shame on me, I haven't seen "Once" yet. I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD. By the way, my favorite soundtrack this year has got to be "Atonement." I just got it yesterday and it's just an inspired piece of work. Although, I don't think the song at the end of the trailer is included in the soundtrack--or maybe I didn't listen closely enough :)
